Happy 2020!

Hello everyone, it's been a ridiculously long time. My hiatus meant that for the first time since the inception of my website, I skipped the 25 Days of Christmas Giveaway. :( I just got so overwhelmed with moving, work, and school, and I had to cut back on things in order to fulfill the duties that were most pressing at hand. I'm sorry for those who were looking forward to the giveaway, I just didn't get the time to prepare and work on it.

I hope that despite the fear that has been impressed upon us with the onslaught of coronavirus, that this post finds you, my dear reader, well. Has xenophobia caught on to you, or those around you? How about the flu? The flu has been a very pressing matter this year, as well - with over 10 thousand deaths and many more hospitalized - I feel like it just gets worse and worse with each passing year. While the coronavirus is nowhere near as deadly, the virus is changing at a rate beyond current medicine, and it's a possible reality that we will be facing something similar to SARS on a global scale. It's quite a somber note to begin my first post of the year with, but the reality is that there has been a spiral of negativity that I find myself getting caught up in.

I have rewritten this post a few times over the course of this week, not too sure how to write or end it. It really is just kind of an update and check in to all of you. I have definitely not been the best writing here in 2019, and now that January is completely done and over with, I think it's safe to say that I've been neglecting this blog in 2020 as well. I didn't want to make this post too much of a debbie downer, or too much of an excuse for not being here. Simply, I had to work on other priorities and get my life back in order, as well as my health. For those of you who are following me on Instagram, you may have seen my post regarding being sick for a lot of December and January - to be honest, that put me in quite the rut. I fell behind in school (still trying to catch up), as well as work. Work is my top priority, as it provides me with funds to stay alive, but I am also putting quite an investment into school, and should also focus a lot of my time into studying and homework. I am not sure when exactly I will figure out the balance to start writing here more regularly, as I am still trying to catch up in school this quarter, and midterms are already upon us. I hope that by the end of this quarter, I will be able to take a breath of fresh air and start anew on this blog. And yes, if you were wondering, I have been wanting to redo my blog for a while now, but have not gotten around to finishing creating a layout. Eep!

I wish you all well, and until next time! Hopefully the coronavirus will be behind us then, and I'll be posting an apartment tour!
