Happy Belated Everything

Hello my dear jello beans,

Happy belated Lunar New Years, Valentine's Day, and Lent! This week has flown by - they say time flies when you're busy, and this week is definitely a testament to that! Everything from last Friday - yesterday has melted together into a few hours, but I have a day off today, and I can't believe it's only 11AM!

I hope you're all doing well :) I wanted to check in; last I left off at still trying to figure out what I am giving up for lent. On the 13th, I figured I will work on not being so emotionally charged, and rather seek peace. That lasted for maybe 16 hours - my husband and I got into an argument Valentine's evening about taxes, finances, and our wedding. Then, yesterday morning, we had a crazy non-work-related-but-it's-work emergency that got everyone up on their toes - wow, spiritual warfare is very real, and I am very imperfect.

I share about these imperfect parts of my life, because it is easy for people to believe everyone else has a perfect life - or that it only gets bad when it's really bad. However, that's not true at all. I posted online about my semi-hike date with my husband, but I didn't post about our evening argument. I posted on LinkedIn the post-emergency photos of our work event, but not about the situation that made us run around like chickens with our head chopped off for three hours. I think these are things people know in their minds that social media is only capturing the snippets of our lives, but it can be hard to remember when people have "nicer" posts to share about.

I am far from perfect, but God's grace is what keeps me going - if it were up to me to fix every mess up and imperfect thing, I promise you, things would be way more chaotic, and nothing would be done. I'd probably just be in the corner overwhelmed, and crying... which admittedly happens more often than I'd like to admit.

I wish you all well, as I head into my weekend! :) Please never feel alone if things don't go quite as planned, because I promise you, most of us do not have our lives happening in perfect harmony with our own plans.
