The Blue Scarf: A Christmas Story (Day 5)

Welcome to Day 5 of my 25 Days of Christmas series! To learn more about the giveaway, click HERE for more information!

As mentioned yesterday, I am having a guest over this week, so I will be doing simpler posts. I've decided that I will be posting little holiday-related short stories, so I hope you enjoy this one about a blue scarf!

"Jan!"

Jan turned around to find Sean with a bright smile on his face and a white box in hand. "Hey!"

Shyly, Sean handed over the plainly wrapped gift, "This is for you. Merry Christmas."

"What is it?"

"Just open it, silly!"

Jan blushed at Sean patting her head affectionately, and opened the mysterious package. "A... scarf?" She pulled out a bright blue, knit scarf.

"Yeah... I knit it myself."

"You knit?"

"I learned how... and I wanted to make this for you," Sean chuckled nervously. "This way when it's cold, you can wrap it around your neck and pretend I'm hugging you. I sprayed a bit of my cologne on it."

"Oh."

"...Oh?"

"I... I'm speechless. I love it," Jan warmly smiled. "It's like you're always with me."

"Well, I'm glad you like it," Sean bashfully said, his face now as red as his USC jacket. "I just wanted to make sure you're warm this holiday season."

"Thanks, I've never received something like this before, I don't really know what to say. I wasn't expecting this."

"That's good! I love surprising you."

"I'm sorry I didn't get you anything yet."

"You don't have to. You're already the best gift I've ever had."
