Wednesday in the Word

Welps, I am back with a Wednesday in the Word!

What better time than now to really delve deep into giving thanks to the Lord?

To be honest, being thankful is hard. It is so much easier to complain and see all the bad things happening, and it's detrimental to our relationship with God.

"Rejoice always, pray continuously, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Jesus Christ" - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

It's not easy to always rejoice, pray, and give thanks.

As human beans, we have feelings that keep us weighed down. We see the world through myopic lens. We only see what is happening in the moment, and how we feel in direct response to things that occur.

But God sees beyond that.

He sees how circumstances will mold us.

Who will teach us something.

Where a job may lead us.

Whom we may meet through a program.

How we can glorify Him.

It's easy to ask "Why?"

Why didn't I get into this program?

Why did I meet this butthole? Why did we break up?

Why did she die? Why? Why? Why?

But everyone and everything in our lives are actually reasons to praise God for. The reason might not be apparent to us, and we can feel like there isn't, but ultimately, we need to know and recognize that God is sovereign. There is always a reason to rejoice, to pray, and to give thanks.

I know this is a super short post-- I'm still pretty sick and tomorrow is my sister's birthday AND Thanksgiving, so I'm running on quite a short fuse. I will talk to you all soon!
