Messy Mondays

Good morning,

Today is DEFINITELY not Monday, but I'm finally catching a little breather today to post, so I thought I'd share a couple of the projects I've been working on the past couple of weeks.

I had several birthdays over a weekend, so I made some bouquets :) They're definitely not perfect; I was working with chrysanthemum for the first time, and that definitely had a learning curve. I love how they are so delicate and spidery, but they also posed as the biggest challenge because of that. All in all, I had a lot of fun, and I think the bouquets came out passable :) I loved the whimsical combination of sweet peas and lysianthus with the chrysanthemums, and look forward to practicing more!

This past week at work, we hosted a Chinese New Year event as well, and I worked on creating some custom menus for the event.

I love working with gold foil; I think it gives a lot of elegance with minimal effort. I usually use it on my Cricut with the foil embossing setting, and this was my first time using the gluestick-trick for hitting the corners. I personally love how the menus came out; my latter work was definitely much better than the first menus I did. I think using a brush helped break up the foil better and give it more of a gradient look - which is unfortunately not seen the menu I photographed. I would definitely 10/10 practice more and try this again on other stationary I design!

What are some projects you all have been up to? I'd love to have you share!
